Connecting Humans and Making People Feel Alive

I don’t build spaces for people who are still waiting to feel ready.

I build them for the ones who are already halfway into it. The ones who are doing it slightly messy, slightly unsure, but doing it anyway.

Because that’s where everything changes. It’s also where we can learn the most.

I’m not interested in perfect plans or polished confidence. I care about action. About the moment you stop negotiating with yourself and just move.

I create spaces where you don’t have to perform having it together. Where honesty lands better than certainty. Where you can say “I think I want more than this” and we’ll make a plan to make it a reality.

Most people think confidence comes first. It doesn’t. It’s what shows up after you’ve already started.

This is a home for people who back themselves before anyone else does. Who stop waiting for permission. Who choose movement. Once you’re in motion, everything starts to shift

Signature text reading "Emily Wides"
A woman sitting on a white stool, holding a white rose, wearing a blue and white checkered dress, smiling, against a plain olive-green background.
Handwritten text that says, "I'm so glad you're here."

I’m not good at colouring inside the lines. In fact, the more wildly abstract, the better. I thrive in uncertainty and in jumping before I’m ready, skipping the small talk and instead leading with, “Tell me something.”

I design spaces that pull people out of their comfort zones and into real conversation, where confidence returns and connection takes root. Come join me in the rooms that will change you.

Emily Wilder is known for her ‘wildly’ successful in person gatherings. Business panels, galas, networking events, full-day retreats, dinner’s big and small, she’s done it all. She’s maybe even had you over to her home for a ‘cuppa’.

At the heart of it all, she’s a connector. In person and online.

If you don’t live in the Vancouver area and have always wanted to be a part of Dine Wilder, attend a networking event with Emily or have access to her community - this is your chance!

Put yourself in a room of like-minded women. Who knows what could happen?

Speaking

A woman in a striped dress appears to be speaking or giving a presentation in front of a seated audience in a room with wood-paneled ceilings and string lights.

Emceeing is a distinct and underserved skill. There are very few people who can walk into any event, not know what’s going to happen, and lead the day with wit, warmth, and genuine authority. Emily is one of them.

Consulting

Ready to make a little magic together? Whether you’re looking for event consulting, a fresh perspective, or a reminder of just how capable you really are, this is a space to get unstuck, get clear, and get moving.

  • “Emily is one of those rare people who doesn’t just bring people together, she makes them feel deeply seen once they arrive!!! At her core, Emily is a connector. She has an incredible ability to create spaces where women feel safe to share openly, dream bigger, and rediscover parts of themselves they may have forgotten along the way. Her Long Table Dinner series is a perfect reflection of who she is: thoughtful, intentional, joy-filled, and rooted in genuine human connection. What makes Emily special is that her work goes far beyond events. She is constantly amplifying the voices of women around her, celebrating their wins, and creating opportunities for others to step into their potential. She leads with warmth, curiosity, and an infectious sense of possibility that leaves people feeling inspired long after the moment ends. If you ever have the chance to collaborate with Emily, say yes immediately! She brings heart, vision, and magic into every space she touches! I promise!”

  • “Emily Shimwell is the kind of emcee who makes everyone in the room feel like the event was made for them. We brought Emily in for Vancity Innovation House, a full-day flagship activation during Web Summit Vancouver week, featuring seven panels, a VIP rooftop experience, and an evening reception. It's a lot to hold together. She made it look effortless. What sets Emily apart isn't just her energy, it's her authenticity. She read the room in real time, connected genuinely with speakers and attendees alike, and brought a warmth that you simply can't manufacture. The audience felt it immediately. She's one of a kind. We'd have her back without hesitation and would recommend her to anyone looking for an emcee who elevates the entire experience.”

Dan Burgar, Founder & CEO, Frontier Collective

  • “I was able to witness firsthand Emily's incredible ability to harness organized chaos into beautiful moments of real, authentic connection. What I was not expecting was Emily’s understanding of how to create the feeling of belonging and connection between people who walked in as strangers and left as a community. She has a rare gift for reading a room, bringing the right energy at the right moment, and weaving together small details that make everyone feel seen. Working with Emily is more than just running a successful event. It’s an experience of being part of something bigger, and that is what truly sets her apart.”

Liam Murphy-Burke - Owner of Wonderlands Plants & Coffee

  • ”Emily knows how to gather women in community and create magic like no one else. Her infectious magnetism, generosity of spirit, attention to detail and unreasonable hospitality are unmatched. She oozes creative vision and the tenacity to bring it to life. I enthusiastically recommend Emily to design experiences that matter and create limitless ripple effects.”

Christa Hull - Co-Founder of Community Academy

  • “Emily is like no one I've ever met. She is the embodiment of authenticity and connection. She has a work ethic that is infused with grit and joy. She has an unwavering sense of purpose that cannot be shaken. Emily is masterful at creating the environments for true connection. She is bright and a delight. When Emily asks - say yes. You'll be glad you did.”
